Don't just learn
Learn how to learn

Brett draws upon a vast inner matrix for teaching which allows him to flexibly share the fundamentals of creative musicianship. He guides students in ways that not only align with their chosen trajectory, but encourages them to step out of their comfort zone and into real learning.
Students don’t follow a pre-arranged, graduated “program” or “system”. Instead, classes are guided by genuine interests within a musical context, grounded in fundamentals, with an essential understanding of how things work and why.

Go beyond the limitations holding you back
With the right approach, you can do just about anything. I can help you go beyond music genres or drumming styles to develop your unique voice.

It’s not only the body of knowledge that matters.
The method of inquiry you'll learn can solve any problem.

To practice a musical instrument is the practice of solving problems. My students receive flexible, guided information that integrates with their own explorative curiosity. They are encouraged to use a scientific approach to problem identification and problem-solving. Students have more autonomy to understand the why and how.  About Classes
